50th anniversary news

The 50th anniversary committee are working hard towards our celebrations in September 2006. We are planning a get-together at the school during the day with displays. A cocktail evening at Guildford Leagues is also part of the celebrations. A cook book is being compiled to mark the occasion and a number of other mementos will be available for purchase. More information on dates and ordering will be made as they become available.

We appreciate your comments and understand your issues about the events on 21 September being a work day. What we have tried to do is satisfy people who can't attend on Thursday during the day by providing the evening function on Friday 22 September. We plan to have photo and information displays also at the evening function. We cordially invite you to attend this function and meet up with old schoolmates, teachers, etc.

As a 1956 kindergartner I am thrilled beyond words to celebrate the schools 50th. We were the first group of kids to go from kindergarten all through to 6th class.. A lot of very fond memories.I don't live in the area anymore but will do my best to be there for the festivities.

In reply to Neil. As you were the first kindergarten do you know whether there was an official opening ceremony for the school. All our research so far has not determined an official opening date and there is no plaque at the school either. I'm going to put this up as a separate section on the site to see if anyone can help. Thanks also for your thoughts and hope to see you there. Lisa from the current P&C
