Official opening date for school - Mystery
Our research so far has been unable to determine an official opening date in 1956 for Guildford West Public school . There is also no plaque which may have been of help. Does anyone know or know someone who might recall? Please share you ideas.

I'm pretty sure it was the normal start of the year.
I base this on the fact that my brother had spent the previous year at a Catholic School & his school year was not interrupted to begin 4th grade.
As for an exact date.....I just don't know. Sorry.

Well I've checked with as many as I can ......we opened for business on th first day of the school year 1956.
Would the Education Department have a record of the school term dates for that time?

Thanks for your comments so far. I'm sure we can check which day school term started in 1956. However, I suppose we thought that there would have been an offical ceremony to open the school. Does anybody remember an offical ceremony?
